A Letter from Pastor Mark Driscoll

Dear Trinity Church Family,

We are living in a moment of historic spiritual consequence. Our nation is drifting rapidly toward a secular, godless agenda led by the Four Horsemen of Feminism, Transgenderism, Socialism, and Islam. Churches across America are either caving to cultural pressure or falling silent on the very issues that matter most: life, marriage, religious liberty, and family. The stakes could not be higher. Trinity Church will not be silent. We will lead the fight in faith. Over the past decade, I have had the privilege of standing with you through repeated attacks from the left, the nonsense of COVID lockdowns — when we stayed open and grew — and the demonic agenda of Black Lives Matter, along with countless other cultural moments where we remained devoted to the truth of God’s Word against cultural confusion. I have preached the Bible without apology, called out lies from the pulpit, and engaged the culture with courage. That will never change. Now, we are taking our biggest step of faith yet.

We are launching the Lives and Legacies Building Fund Campaign. The total estimated cost for purchase, construction, technology, and furnishings is $50 million. This is above and beyond the General Fund — additional generosity given faithfully over the course of two years, from Easter 2026 to Easter 2028.

The timing is nothing short of providential. As our nation prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday, Trinity Church is stepping forward to secure a new, much larger home for generations of ministry. In the final week of our 10-week Lives and Legacies Building Fund Campaign launch, I am scheduled to preach on Sunday, May 17 at 9:00 a.m. to an expected one million people at our nation's capital - calling America back to Jesus Christ. Your prayer is appreciated. God is moving. We are following.

Since our beginning as a Bible study in 2016, our mission has never wavered: We open our Bibles to learn, we open our lives to love, so that lives and legacies are transformed. God has so richly blessed this mission that our church family has completely outgrown our home.

We prayed, and God answered. With much of the West Coast already surrendered to a godless agenda, Scottsdale will remain our forward operating base for generations to come. Trinity Church will fight for Arizona families and stand as a firewall against the spread of secular ideology in politics and culture.

We are asking you to pray and to ask God what He is calling you to give.

There are few moments in a lifetime when you are invited to be part of something this significant for the Kingdom of Christ. This is one of those moments. The full impact of all that God will do through you in our new church home will not be fully seen until eternity — but it will be far greater than anything we can imagine today. People not even born yet will avoid death in the womb, get saved and baptized at Trinity Church, marry, have a family, and see their lives and legacies transformed in our new church home as they join God’s Forever Family.

We refuse to stand before Jesus Christ at the end of this life having apologized for not dreaming big, giving sacrificially, and living by faith. Act in faith. Be generous. Make God your financial priority. After thirty years as a Senior Pastor, I am more excited and expectant than I have ever been. I invite you — with great joy — to join Jesus in building His church by giving prayerfully and generously to the Lives and Legacies Building Fund Campaign. For faith, freedom, and family,

Senior and Founding Pastor
Mark Driscoll

Common Questions

Have we purchased our new church building?

Yes, we closed in January for $15.5 million and paid the $4 million down payment out of our savings.

What is the total cost of the new building project (purchase, construction, furnishings, and technology)?

The projected cost is $50 million, and we are awaiting bids from contractors to finalize the budget. Pastor Mark will be giving regular updates throughout fundraising and construction.

When will the new building be open?

Our goal is to open in the summer of 2027 and have a grand opening for our 11th birthday in the fall of 2027.

What will happen to our current building?

We will sell it to a non-woke, Bible-believing Christian church and are currently under contract. We are a debt-free church, and all profit will go to the new church building.

What are the projected service times in the new building?

Our plan is to start with services Saturday 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. We will have more time for worship, prayer, communion, baptisms, and hanging out as a church family. Pastor Mark will have time for longer sermons and live preaching.

What are some of the things the staff are most excited about?

Right now, our ministry is scattered between three locations. The staff is excited to get everyone and everything together. Our two permanent baptismal tanks will allow 1,000+ baptisms a year, which is very exciting, as every service can be a salvation celebration.

How will the new building allow us to make more disciples?

Having Real Women, Real Men, Trinity Kids, and Trinity Students all together on Wednesday night will be a huge benefit to helping people take the next step in their walk with Christ. More classroom space will allow for more practical, Bible-based training (e.g., marriage, parenting, finances). We will also launch the Trinity Church Discipleship Institute as a more formal training process to help develop our leaders, especially the next generation of young leaders. We are constantly breaking records for pre-married couples and children, and we will accelerate our discipleship of the next generation.

What will not change with our move to a new church home?

Who we are will not change. Our mission, vision, values, doctrine, and ministry will remain the same, only larger, as we make room for our growing church family.

What new things can happen in the new church home?

We can have large worship nights. We can host large events for men, women, and students. We can host large training events for marriage and parenting. We can host political and cultural debates and discussions to educate our people on living their faith in the public square and standing up for righteousness.

What is the plan for Real Men?

This massive move will allow us to take the lid off Real Men and explode from a ministry to a movement, meeting on Tuesdays and Wednesday nights. The goal is to have the largest weekly Christian men’s ministry gathering in the history of North America as we build up men to bless women and children. We will also welcome pastors from other churches and train them in how to start a men’s ministry of their own, as we already have over 200 pastors. We refuse to let the world raise the next generation of men. We have a mandate from our Father to reach and raise up His sons!

Prayer Items

1.

Thank God for 10 years of His incredible faithfulness and grace to our Trinity Church family. He has brought us from nothing to this historic opportunity.

2.

Thank God for every person who has been saved, baptized, married, discipled, and become a parent at Trinity Church.

3.

Thank God for every child currently at Trinity Church and every child in the future that will be raised in our church. Pray for each child to love the Lord, and walk in obedience to His will for their life so that the legacy of their family is generational faithfulness.

4.

Pray for the generational legacy of Trinity Church – that future generations of children and grandchildren in our church family would grow up to serve the cause of Christ, carrying forth the legacy of their family.

5.

Pray for every Christian at Trinity Church to hear from the Holy Spirit what amount He is calling them to give to the Lives and Legacies Building Fund Campaign, and that they will be obedient to His will for them.

6.

Pray that the entire team overseeing our building project will be safe and stay on budget and schedule. This includes our developer, architect, sub-contractors, designers, tradesmen, and audio-visual and lighting engineers.

7.

Pray for the non-Christians that God has appointed to meet Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord in the generations to come at our new church home.

8.

Pray for the governing board and lead team of Trinity Church to exercise Holy Spirit-led wisdom throughout their leadership of the entire project.

9.

Pray for the health of Pastor Mark and his family as they lead our church family.

10.

Pray for the other churches in our valley who love and serve Jesus, that they too would be encouraged, strengthened, and moving forward with faith and vision.

11.

Pray for the state of Arizona that it would turn back to policies and laws that are pro-faith, pro-family, and pro-freedom.

12.

Pray that in all we do, God would be glorified and our people would be well served.

As your Founding Senior Pastor, my request is that every Christian in our church family would participate in the Lives and Legacies Building Fund Campaign. Not everyone will give the same amount. What matters is not how much everyone gives, but that everyone is participating in worship through giving. What amount should you give? That is a question for you to earnestly seek from the Lord. If you are married, that is a question for you and your spouse to seek from the Lord together.

The following 5 questions based upon biblical principles can help your heart and mind prepare to hear from the Lord on what amount He is asking you to give.

1. Is my gift a reflection of God being the highest priority in my life?

Proverbs 3:9–10, “Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.”

2. Is my gift sacrificial and causing me to make a change in my life to give this gift?

Hebrews 13:15–16, “Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

3. Is my gift generous and in proportion with my income and wealth?

2 Corinthians 8:12, “For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.”

4. Is my gift an act of faith, trusting God to make it possible to fulfill?

Matthew 6:24, “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”

5. Is my gift cheerful, giving it out of love for God and joy to be involved in His work?

The point is this - 2 Corinthians 9:6–7, "Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
